Welcome!
Hi there! I’m Bridgett.
I understand how challenging it can be when a child, teen, or young adult is struggling and parents are unsure how to reach them. My work focuses on helping families strengthen their connection through understanding, communication, and compassion. I support clients from early childhood through young adulthood as they navigate the numerous emotional and developmental changes that accompany each stage of growth. I believe lasting change begins when we understand how the developing brain processes emotions, relationships, and stress. In therapy, I help by developing emotional awareness and coping skills, while guiding parents in learning new ways to connect with and support their child. Together, we create space for healing, growth, and stronger family relationships.
How I Can Help
In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and collaborative space where your experiences are heard and understood. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, designed to help clients set achievable and measurable goals, build practical coping skills, and increase self-awareness. I also enjoy integrating elements of play therapy into sessions. Whether that’s through playing a game, tossing a ball, walking, or other activities. Movement can help children and adolescents feel comfortable, calm the mind, and serve as a powerful tool for growth.
Together, we will focus on addressing challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social difficulties, and family conflict. I also support parents in learning ways to communicate effectively and connect with their child at each stage of development. Our work is guided by practical strategies that promote growth, develop resilience, and lead to meaningful, lasting change.
Professional Background
My diverse experiences and education have fueled my passion for supporting others.
Here’s a glimpse into how my background equips me to support you effectively on your journey.
How I Got Here
My path to becoming a therapist was not a straight line. I began in a different career that ultimately did not fulfill me, and then I made the bold decision to start over. Over the years, I have realized the roles I truly loved- working at a group home and as an educational assistant- were the moments where I felt the most joy and purpose. These experiences have profoundly influenced my approach and solidified my commitment to supporting the younger generations and understanding unique dynamics within families. I feel an overwhelming gratitude for the opportunity to work with this population and to grow as a clinician.
Education & Training
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University. Additionally, I have completed specialized trainings in Exposure-Based Therapy for Anxiety and OCD, Counseling Kids in Crisis, Neurodiversity and Neuro-Affirming Counseling for Youth, and Trauma-Focused School Counseling which further enhanced my expertise in providing evidence-based, developmentally informed strategies that support emotional growth, resilience, and strong parent-child connections.
