Welcome!
Hi! I’m Mimi.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it's not always easy to make sense of the thoughts, emotions, or experiences that shape how we move through the world. Whether you're navigating the effects of trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or a major life transition, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, and begin moving toward meaningful change.
I believe therapy is most effective when it is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine connection. My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to explore your experiences, gain insight, and build on your strengths. Together, we'll work toward developing practical tools, fostering resilience, and creating a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and aligned with what matters most to you.
How I Can Help
In our sessions, you can expect a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Together, we will explore the experiences, thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges while identifying practical strategies to help you navigate them. I strive to tailor each session to your unique needs, recognizing that every person's story and path toward healing are different.
My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other integrative approaches to best support your goals. I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and collaboration.
Together, we will work toward increasing self-awareness, strengthening healthy coping skills, improving emotional regulation, building resilience, and fostering more fulfilling relationships. Whether you're processing difficult experiences, navigating life transitions, or seeking personal growth, my goal is to support and empower you in creating lasting, meaningful change.
Professional Background
My diverse experiences and education have fueled my passion for supporting others.
Here’s a glimpse into how my background equips me to support you effectively on your journey.
How I Got Here
My path to becoming a therapist began with a desire to support individuals whose experiences and struggles often go unseen. As a first-generation Vietnamese American from a military-connected family, I grew up witnessing the values of resilience, sacrifice, and perseverance, while also recognizing the silence that often surrounded mental health and trauma. My grandfather served in the Vietnamese Army alongside the United States military during the Vietnam War, and my experiences as a military spouse further deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by service members, veterans, and their families.
Over the years, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including crisis intervention, inpatient psychiatric care, services for justice-involved individuals, and as a volunteer wellness advocate supporting the Royal Air Force Mildenhall Security Forces Squadron. These experiences have strengthened my passion for providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and have reinforced my belief that healing begins when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.
I am committed to creating a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can safely explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop the tools needed to navigate life's challenges. My hope is to help individuals foster greater self-understanding, strengthen their relationships, and move toward a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling.
Education & Training
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School and am currently pursuing my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology there. My clinical training includes crisis intervention, inpatient psychiatric care, psychological assessment, and my doctoral pre-internship placement within the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. These experiences have strengthened my foundation in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care, which continues to shape my approach to supporting clients.
