Welcome!
I’m Skyler.
There are moments in life when we feel overwhelmed and stuck—trapped in negative thoughts, intense emotions, or unhelpful behavioral patterns. In the chaos, it’s easy to rely on old habits that no longer serve us, and reaching out for help can feel daunting, especially with the pressure to have it all together. The truth is, everyone needs support at times, and everyone has the capacity to heal. By beginning therapy, you’ve already shown great courage and taken the first step toward change.
How I Can Help
In our sessions, you can expect structured, goal-oriented interventions, practical exercises, and empathetic support to address your unique concerns and needs. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Humanistic approaches, designed to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns, process and heal from past trauma, and cultivate personal growth and self-acceptance.
Together, we will focus on processing past traumas, reshaping negative thought patterns, and building effective coping strategies to help you heal from emotional wounds, develop healthier behaviors, and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Professional Background
My diverse experiences and education have fueled my passion for supporting others.
Here’s a glimpse into how my background equips me to support you effectively on your journey.
How I Got Here
My path to becoming a therapist began with a profound interest in understanding and supporting individuals through their most challenging moments. Over the years, I have worked in schools and served as a residential counselor at a group home, where I supported people from diverse backgrounds who had experienced trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. These experiences have profoundly influenced my approach and solidified my commitment to helping individuals heal from their past, build resilience, and foster personal growth.
Education & Training
I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of La Verne, where I specialized in family dynamics and trauma. Additionally, I have completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and participated in workshops on culturally responsive practices, which further enhanced my expertise in addressing trauma and supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring a comprehensive and effective approach to therapy.
