Frequently Asked Questions & Investment

1. Getting Started: The Aspire Experience

Which service is right for me: Therapy, Assessment, or Coaching?

Therapy is designed for deep emotional support and navigating life’s complexities like anxiety, relationships, or trauma. Psychological Assessment is a specialized diagnostic journey to uncover the "why" behind learning, attention, or neurodevelopmental patterns (like ADHD or Autism). Coaching is a future-focused, strategic partnership designed for high-performance, career transitions, and life motivation. Our client care coordinators are here to help you determine the perfect fit during your initial consult.

Who do you support?

We work with children, teens, adults, couples, parents, and families. Our clinicians are experts in supporting diverse identities and life experiences across the entire lifespan.

Is telehealth an option?

Yes. We offer secure, high definition telehealth services for clients across California and Florida.

Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion

Aspire is a welcoming, LGBTQIA affirming, and kink-friendly space. We are committed to neuro-affirming care and ongoing education regarding ethnicity, religion, and gender identity.

Note on Accessibility: Our Claremont, South Pasadena, and Tampa offices are fully handicap accessible. For sessions at our Sierra Madre location, we are happy to arrange a satellite office to accommodate your needs.

2. The Therapy & Coaching Journey

What should I expect in our first session?

The initial session is an exploratory "deep dive." Your clinician will learn about your history, your current challenges, and your vision for the future. Together, you will craft a roadmap that feels aligned with your goals.

How often will we meet?

Consistency is key to meaningful change. We typically recommend weekly sessions for the first six weeks to build momentum. From there, we collaborate on a frequency that fits your lifestyle whether that’s maintaining weekly focus or moving to bi-weekly sessions for ongoing self-discovery.

What if the clinician isn't the "right fit"?

The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in your success. If at any point you feel the connection isn't clicking, we encourage open dialogue. We are happy to facilitate a warm hand-off to another specialist within our practice who may better align with your style.

3. Precision-Tailored Assessment

What exactly is psychological testing?

It is a structured, data-driven exploration of how your brain processes the world. We assess for ADHD, Autism Spectrum conditions, learning differences, and giftedness (2e). This provides the clarity needed for school/work accommodations and personalized treatment planning.

Can these evaluations be used for high-stakes accommodations?

Yes. We specialize in evaluations for academic and workplace accommodations, including standardized testing environments (LSAT, MCAT, GRE, etc.). While the final decision rests with the testing board, we provide the robust, clinical documentation required for these requests.

What is the timeline for a full evaluation?

The process is thorough and typically takes four to six weeks:

  1. Intake: A comprehensive developmental history.
  2. Testing: 1–3 hour blocks tailored to your (or your child's) stamina.
  3. Analysis: Behind-the-scenes scoring and expert report drafting.
  4. Feedback: A dedicated session to walk through results and your bespoke roadmap.

4. Investment & Insurance

Why do you prioritize a Private-Pay model?

By limiting insurance involvement, we protect your ultimate privacy. Insurance companies require a permanent diagnosis and can audit your private records. Our model ensures that your care is dictated by you and your clinician — not an insurance adjuster. This allows for a more tailored, deep-dive experience that high-volume clinics cannot offer.
